DC Eve

I've made the trip back and forth at least a dozen times. But tomorrow, its for keeps.

After a week of trying to figure out the contents of my life, it was finally loaded into two cars tonight. I can't lie. I was as giddy as a little school girl. Example: As I stood back from our makeshift coffee table to admire my polishing work, I coyly said under my breath "Well, Hello Mr. Rockefeller." Don't worry, a decent amount of self loathing followed. And I calmed down.

Tomorrow's trip down is a long time coming. We've had this dream for almost a year now, and its finally materializing. Especially on the job front: The new location is going to help tremendously. People rarely look at you if you're sending a resume in from 4 hours away. It helped greatly to have the D.C. address on it, but once they found out that it is not where I showered and put on my suit that morning. . . a similar sentiment ensued.

As for tonight, I'm heading out to meet up with a few good friends and share some drinks.

But the train leaves early tomorrow at approximately 6:30 AM.

This could be the rumor mill, but someone said the town is going to assemble?! Yeah, all past acquaintances, the guys from Sicily's, teachers, garbage men, bakers, the ladies from Potts Hot Dogs, librarians, the guy with the high pitched voice from 7-11, pretty much everyone is going to line the streets for my autograph, to kiss their babies, and shed tears as I leave. But that's just what I heard. . .

"Big Gulps, eh?! Well, see ya later!"
